SOME still the defending Champ in Christmas Carol Contest 2011

Singing christmas carols with all their hearts, Society of Music Enthusiasts (SOME)of Sarmiento Campus proves that they are still the best chorale group as they outcast its eight contenders and bagged the championship  for the second time in the Christmas Carol Chorale contest held at Activity Center, Decemeber 14.

Society of Music Enthusiasts won the chorale championship for the second time.

“To God be the Glory! Siya talaga yung nagpapanalo sa amin. Simula pa lang nung practice, weve got all of this because of Him and of course yung patience and hardwork ng bawat isa sa amin.” Said Ivan Joseph Vargas one of the member of SOME.

Nine groups battled in the competition, each had the chance to sing their chosen christmas songs for the first part as a warm up followed by the contest piece entitled “ Pasko na,Gumising” which was sung by each group with one melody and hymn.

With their own piece of music, SOME gives different renditions to O come O YE Faithful, Joy to the World, Angels we have heard on High, The first Noel and O night divine as part of their tapestry of carols that outstand with the other groups.

“Puso sa pagkanta nung mga bata yung nagpapanalo talaga sa amin.”said Maridad Esguera adviser of SOME in their two treak win.

Meanwhile Bustos Campus “Yubalistas” got the first place followed by the College of Engineering “Inhinyero  Chorale” and College of Nursing “Lungs Chorale” at third place.

Winners receives tropies and cash prizes 20,000, 15,000, 10,000 and 5,000php respectively. While non winner also receives a consolation prize worth 3,000php. And the entire group receives a certificate of appreciation from the Cultural Afairs of Performing Arts (CAPA) who organized the event as part of their contribution at the BulSU 107^th foundation week.

On the other hand, College of Archiotecture and Fine Arts, “Glee Club”  receives two special awards as they won the Best in Choreography and Best in Costume while the Inhinyero Chorale snatched the Most discipline group award.

Certificate of Recognition from CAPA were also awarded to Meneses Campus “Kasibol Chorale”, SOME and Yubalistas.#Ruby Jean Ricafranca and Jovelyn Bautista
